When starting a conversation about SEO I always like to begin with this story writing by Matt Cutts of Google.
This is the post on his blog. It shows how little these supposed SEO professionals know and how they hope that their emails get to unsuspecting business owners who they can take advantage of. I have posted the link below. In a related not I myself received an email from a supposed SEO professional who was going to help me SEO my site for related keywords in Tucson. Obviously this individual did not check out my website as stated or they would have seen I am doing just fine and perform SEO services myself. I would have been OK if they were offering me the opportunity to resell their services to my clients but alas not, this was not what they were offering. If I had a link to post to get you to the email I would include it also.
I was meeting with a client who thought that YEXT would be the answer to his search engine optimization Tucson concerns. After a few months and no results we revisited this idea. In the meantime I have done some research and included links to articles about these services and their claims to bolster local businesses search engine optimization. The first article is about YEXT and how their service showed no increase in local search optimization based on the writer’s research.
I also did some article research about UBL. UBL claims that they submit to a number of data aggregators but when you call these companies they claim to have no knowledge of this fact. I find this disappointing as I have used UBL. I truly hope these claims are untrue and the reason these data aggregators are disavowing knowledge of UBL is because they want to sell services direct at a higher price. I do have to admit that in the beginning I saw some boost in SEO Tucson for my clients using UBL for Local Search Engine Optimization. Localize is another service and is referenced in some of the articles above. Overall none of the services received high scores and the survey said essentially hires a professional to go out and do in manually. This is what I do! There is a comparison of the three @ moz.com that I would encourage anyone who is interested in do it yourself local search engine optimization.

Are you tired of getting countless emails telling you your website is terrible? I get forwarded emails from my clients all the time where the content is nothing but lies. If you are ranked well on page one of the search engines how it that you have poorly is designed SEO on your website? How is it that your content is not relevant to the search engines and should be changed? How is it that your XML site maps are incorrect or poorly constructed? I am reminded of the horror stories told about auto mechanics selling muffler bearings. Muffler bearings do not exist! I love the fact that these companies are doing nothing but fishing for sites that are already ranked and have some great SEO going on. I can honestly say I have told more than one prospective client that they are looking good with their website and SEO. I also recommend that if it is working to keep doing what they are doing. Unless they are on one of those $1000 a month programs. If that is the case I would recommend they renegotiate their contract……….
Internet Marketing Tucson is important and highly misunderstood so predatory salesmen and companies take advantage of the situation. Be careful when signing up for services and make sure that you do a little research on the subject before signing on the dotted line.
